I'm calling it...your content is losing my trust.

I'm calling it...your content is losing my trust.

I'm calling it...your content is losing client trust.

AI is not the problem. It's the copy and paste culture.
I am here to help you sound more like you & I might not even know you!

I’m seeing more and more content in my network that looks polished at first glance, but the moment I read it through, it falls apart. The tone is off; words aren’t theirs nor the structure. Suddenly my trust is gone and i'm onto the next post - so are your potential clients.

This isn’t about being anti-AI, I use AI every single day. However AI is a tool, not a substitute for your voice, your judgement, or your experience.

Did you know there are tells?

One of the newest ones is:

  • Short sentence.
  • Full stop.
  • Then the next sentence starts with “And”. (the worst!)

I don’t know about you, but that didn’t get me A grades in high school English class, and it still doesn't.

Real people don’t write like that. Especially not seasoned business owners.

If you’re using AI to help with written content, here are five checks to run before you hit POST.

Your AI Filter Checklist

1. Does This Actually Sound Like You?

Read it out loud.Would you say these words in conversation with a client, a peer, or a room full of professionals? If the answer is no, it’s not finished.
Your content should reflect:

  • The words you actually use
  • Your natural tone
  • Your lived experience

AI can structure ideas. It cannot replicate your personality unless you teach it, and even then, it still needs your final edit.

2. Cut the Obvious AI Jargon

This one matters more than people realise. Certain words scream “machine generated”. You’ve seen them everywhere:

  • Thrilled
  • Delighted
  • Unlock
  • Unleash
  • Game-changing

Just because AI suggested them doesn’t mean they belong in your content. (sorry if you genuinely use these words in real life, AI has hijacked them)

Editing is not optional when you use AI. If you wouldn’t use a word in real life, remove it. Simple.

3. Is the Length Right for the Platform?

Each platform has its own behaviour and expectations. LinkedIn is built for considered thinking, insight, and professional storytelling. Instagram is visual and punchy. Email sits somewhere else again. Overwritten content is one of the fastest ways to signal AI use. It overwhelms readers and erodes trust.

Ask yourself:

  • Would I actually read this if it came from someone else?
  • Does this match how people use this platform?

If not, trim it.

4. Have You Added a Real Opinion or Insight?

AI is excellent at being neutral. Humans are not. If your content doesn’t include:

  • A viewpoint
  • A decision
  • A boundary
  • Or a lived lesson

Then it’s likely too generic. Your audience follows you for how you think, not how well you can generate text.

Add your judgement. That’s the value.

5. Did You Rewrite at Least One Full Paragraph?

This is a simple rule that works. If you haven’t rewritten at least one paragraph entirely in your own words, you probably haven’t edited enough. Even a small rewrite shifts cadence, tone, and authenticity. It makes the piece feel grounded and human.

My Final Thought

AI should make your work clearer, faster, and more effective. It should not replace your voice. If people can tell you didn’t touch it, they’ll assume you didn’t think deeply about it either.

Use AI to assist.
Edit to lead.
Let your experience do the talking.

That’s how trust is built.
